Your website is extremely well done. The multimedia presentation is first class, and is pretty accurate. It would be nice if the eyewitness commentary too could have English subtitles, but I guess it isn’t completely necessary. Congratulations once again on the completion of a first class job. Any thoughts of entering the educational market? The presentation would make an excellent educational multimedia CD. Just a thought. All the best.

Congratulations on selection as World Summit e-Culture Award winner!!!!! It’s an appropriate award for this fantastic site!!!

I am enjoying your excellent site very much. It is well researched and presented and will help people understand just how critical the Soviet Union was in the defeat of fascism.
Rob Scott
This sight is excellent, without peer in my previous experience. I have been interested in the Great Patriotic War for many years and own a large number of English language texts. The website summarizes those in an excellent fashion thought provoking, vivid and uncompromising. This is what the internet is for. First class.

Thank you very much for your fantastic site. All I wished to learn about Eastern Front was inside. All the best from France
Olivier Dader (France)
It is outstanding I couldn’t stop I have to see it all and I will see it again and tell my friends to see it. All the best

Unparalleled work, I’m speechless. A lot of feeling has been put down in this work you can tell. It creates a atmosphere completely unique on WW2 sites. This site really dwarfs other similar in this area, the fields of history. My sincere congratulations on an immense work! Many thanks
Stefan
Congratulations! This is one of the most interesting and useful homepage i have ever seen! I think with this kind of animations the students can learn easier in the school. Go ahead!

Ever since I had a students job at a ’Antlantik wall’ museum in Ostend, Belgium. I’ve been fascinated by WWII’s history. I’m only 23 years old, and your site has cleared up a lot what has happened on the Russian Front. This should be shown in history classes all around the globe, so that young people are to be remembered of these cruelties that happened in this Great War.
It’s extremely detailed as well, it took me on a 2hour long trip through the history of Russia. I especially loved the sound files from the people who had actually been there. It was like listening to my Grandmother when she told me about the war. I could listen hours to what she was telling.
Congratulations on the site! I’ve bookmarked this.

Outstanding! I have never seen such a well documented and well executed multimedia encyclopedia before. I also find that even though the contents are well deservedly patriotic it is still balanced and many faceted. Thank you very much and my deepest respect for the all the women and men who sacrificed so much during those terrible years.

As a teacher for the Scottsdale Unified School District in Arizona, USA, I salute the creators of this web site. Students will gain so much from viewing this presentation of the great victory of the Soviet Armed Forces over the Nazi oppressors.
Richard W. Thomas IV (USA)
Fantastic! Thank you so much for providing and English translation of this project. I wish that more of my fellow citizens would take the time and effort to learn more about these highly important events of the recent history. It is a travesty what passes for historical education in this country and in the end it will lead us only to tragedy.
Brian Decker (USA)
This is possibly the best multimedia presentation I’ve ever seen. Well done technically, as well as historically.
I work as a history teacher in Sweden and if I may, I would definitely like to use your work as a part in my history course. Apart from accessing this presentation via the Internet, would it be possible to buy the presentation? Having it on a CD, or similar, would be really useful.
Fredrik Almlцf (Sweden)
Have to say it is a really awesome piece of flash-animation. Since I’m bit of history buff myself, I loved to details and things you can get from it. It really shows how it is possible to do very nice and user-friendly things with flash, so that people can see and get information from it easy and entertaining way. And I do realize that it has been a huge project to complete. Great work.

Absolutely fabulous! I taught 16-year olds US History for a living previously and now I assist other teachers in the use of technology in the classroom. When I was teaching a necessarily US-centric version of «World War II», I always took some time to explain that it was the Soviets and the Great Patriotic War that truly did the heavy lifting in the defeat of Nazi Germany. Now I have a truly excellent resource to point my teachers to that can help them make this point to our students more clearly. I can’t say enough nice things about this effort, and I am sure that many educators in the US, UK and elsewhere will appreciate your efforts in making this available in English. Again, beautiful work!

Wonderful webpage really, like an interactive book about the war on the Eastern Front, which is where my grand uncle died and my grandfather got captured POW. This project can help me to understand the complete situation and the circumstances of that time. It is a fantastic documentation about the Soviet perspective of WW2. Now here’s some criticism, too.
Being German of course I maybe miss some German soldiers’ memories and voices. The lack of it let’s your project look a bit one sided and maybe too patriotic. Historical documentations should always cover every angle to provide objectivity and prevent a one-sided judgement. There is no doubt Hitler and the Germans started this war and the German armies took away Soviet ground and reigned it cruel and with terror, but the Soviet record on the counter offensive is not clean either, an aspect of this war that should not be ignored. In war there is nobody innocent, this is why wars may not happen in the first place.

In memory of my grandmother Lubov Nakitichna Dimova, and all of her family that had to endure this atrocity in their lifetime — I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this site; it is one of the most powerful, moving bits of history I have ever come across, and I know they would all have been very proud of all that has contributed to this.
Corinna (USA)
Very impressive! Few people today understand the impact of WWII, much less the how much the Russian’s suffered and contributed to the eventual defeat of the Nazis. It is a lesson that you have provided in a very professional, and insightful way. Thank you very much!
Ronald Hughes (Montana, USA)
Simply awesome! I’m very interested in Russian history, especially Great Patriotic War, and this site incredibly well made! It’s a fantastic tool in destroying the myths about Russia in WW2 that are too present in the Western world! I even sent it to Russian friends!
Franзois Barbeau (Canada)
The most wonderful WW2-related site ever! I’ve been brushing up my Russian through this site since I found the site on last March. Now I can compare these two versions, understanding more clearly how the most bloodiest war in the human history was fought.
Kim Sisub (Korea)
Outstanding work! Pobediteli certainly fills-in several gaps in my western oriented education concerning World War II. Thank you!
Aaron Miller
An amazing website that has been thoroughly researched and shows the passion and commitment of the people involved. It is wonderful to have a website showing the gigantic struggle on the Eastern Front, the bloodiest and most important campaign in the bloodiest and most important war in man’s history. The interviews with veterans is a wonderful touch — it shows you the people behind the courage and victories in this war. In conflict sometimes the small soldier gets lost in the bigger picture of thousands of tanks and millions of men - your website ensures that that doesn’t happen. Thank you and congratulations from Bulgaria!
ictor Petrov (Bulgaria)
Simply OUTSTANDING! The animations, the live accounts from actual veterans of the battles, the videos, the incredible interaction... My sincere congratulations to the team that put this together. A masterpiece of historical information that will fascinate both the historians and general public alike! Thank you so much!
Francois Dutil, Montreal, Canada
Wonderful web page... it’s time to again celebrate the brave men and women that served in WW2 before they are all gone. One of my uncles served with the US 94th Infantry Division in WW2 and still vividly remembers the joyus meeting of his unit with Russian troops in central Europe. To all WW2 veterans of the USSR and it’s citizens touched by the «Great Patriotic War» ... my highest regards. «Non sibi sed patriae» .... «Not for self, but country»
Michael Melland
Wow what a great website presentation! This war has always been interesting to me, especially the eastern front. There is no way we would have had our «D-Day» or any victories in the west if it wasn’t for the war in Russia.
This is a great reminder of the horrors of war, but also how good people can overcome anything. In early 1941 it did not look good, but good prevailed over evil. It is sad that all the veterans of this great war are dying... Soon, none will be left to tell the stories and all we’ll have is books and media.
I hate to think what the world would be like if the Russians would have surrendered to the Germans back then.. We (Americans) owe alot to the Russians as well as the British for standing up to Hitler under horrible conditions.
I hope all of our peoples never forget... we’re all only humans.. most wanting peace... just a few crazies wanting war... but I guess this is human nature... I dread the day of the next «Hitler»...
Jeffrey Scharpf
Fabulous work! I just spent the last hour and a half enthralled with the English version of your WW2 Eastern Front multimedia map.
Michael J., Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Today I came across your web-site and was amased as I found my grandmothers name in there- Polinkova Nadejda who currently recides in Rostovskya region. Thank you so much for remembering her. I am far away from her now, but your site brought me closer to her and thank you again. You are the BEST!
Yaroslava Polinkova, San Francisco, CA
Although I don’t know Russian, I am interesting to the course of the Great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union. Watching the great multimedia presentation can increase my knowledge of the war. However, it will be better if this imformative website can be surfed in English or German. As a foreigner, I want to say, No one will forget this miserable memories, and the brave, valient Soviet soldiers, they equipped with not only weapons but also the self-sacrified spirit. History will never forget them. Glory to the Victory Day of the Soviet Union against the Fascists for 60 years !
«Your cause just, war until victory».

Such a detailed and informative website about the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War can only happen in Russia, where people remember the past and honor their heroes! I only wish you guys could put it into English, French, German, Spanish, etc. so that people can learn about the most important part of W.W. II.
Leon Rozmarin, Massachusetts, USA
This a great and professional job. We are in New Zeland and we appriciate of what you have done so far. Most of the people in the world think that second world war have been won by USA and England. We think that it’s very important to keep thouse projects alive. World should know the real heros who brought the victory not to the countries but to whole world. We appriciate of what you’ve done and we always will In memory of thouse who is not with us... Regards
Tim and Sasha, New Zealand
Congratulations for so fantastic site. Some goverment and several russian business men should learn - visiting this site and learning some of their own history — how to invest in really necesary projects like this one. Because no generation must forgive. All the best from Spain.

I found your website «Pobediteli» on the Internet and am very impressed with your work!!!
I would like to learn more about the Second World War in Russia. It would be very nice if your
project had an English version so people in America could learn about Russian history
more.
Thank you very much.
